I met Kasumi on instagram last year, and she knits really beautiful socks. We decided to make a limited run of 20 pairs of Barrie socks. It took her about 3-5 days to make each pair, and then sent them over from Japan. The socks come with a download of 4 unreleased short songs/sounds that won’t be available anywhere else.

Been thinking a lot about merch and how to do it in a way that feels ok with my thoughts on consumerism and environmentalism. It’s an important source of income for musicians, and it’s hard to reconcile with trying to be thoughtful about the stuff I put into the world.

This isn’t particularly responsible in terms of sustainability since they’re shipped from Japan. But I like knowing who’s making them, and that they were deliberately crafted by a lovely person with the intention that you’ll have them for a long time.
